why do I need Presence coaching?

Most of us do not know how others perceive us. We lack awareness in our bodies and how others might experience our body language or how they hear our tone of voice. Usually how we hold our shoulders or how we position our feet can go unnoticed because it has become our default. Presence coaching allows you to gain awareness and receive professional feedback on your body language, posture, tone of voice, eye contact, expressions and gestures. While family members, friends, or coworkers could give us feedback on their perceptions of us, there may be a bias or a lack of direction for how “to correct” our misrepresentations. Your coach will give you useful tools with hacks to practice in front of a mirror, watch yourself in video recordings and if applicable, practice in front of strangers like a mock interview setting. This will help both of your in-person and online impressions. Since Inside Out Image Consulting is trying to show more of who you are, our method of Presence Coaching leads with authenticity, so you will feel more comfortable in your own skin, and others will feel your inner confidence and true identity.

Why is Presence so important?

Presence is important because it’s where we build trust, inspire confidence, and communicate who we are to form better relationships. Your presence determines how others perceive you. When people first meet you, they decide if they see you as warm, competent, and or trustworthy. They confirm this judgement within seven seconds, and if the impression is inaccurate, it would take seven more encounters with a different experience to change the seven-second judgement. Imagine having to go back on a bad date seven more times—highly unlikely. Thus, we want you to have all the tools you need not only to make a good impression, but truly represent who you are in your presence.

The M.A.P. Process covers all bases.

The M.A.P. process works by effectively using all spectrums of communication. According to the psychology professor, Albert Mehrabian’s 7-38-55 Theory, our communication is broken down into 7% words, 38% tone of voice, and 55% appearance with body language. All in all, 45% of an impression is verbal and 55% is non-verbal. What matters more than our words is how we say them and how we are perceived in our body language and appearance. Thus, Presence coaching addresses both the verbal and nonverbal cues we send to others.

Send the right Message without saying a word

To be clear on the message you are trying to send, we highly recommend Brand Development that defines who you are and your capabilities. For example, your message may be like “I am a leader” or “I am a catch” or “I am worth the investment,” so we will make sure you send that message in your appearance and presence while aligning with your mindset. We also recommend Mindset Coaching because how you feel about yourself, your aptitudes, and your self-worth determines your impression on others.
