Why would I need brand development?

Brand Development includes the goal analysis but gives a more thorough framework to define not just what you want to accomplish, but also defines who you are and the message you want to send. No matter if you have personal or professional goals, you are your own brand. We want to make sure you send a clear message in your appearance because humans are wired to make snap judgements based on 55% visual impressions and 45% verbal impressions according to Albert Mehrabian’s 7-38-55 Theory.

Since we live in a fast-paced, competitive society dominated by digital impressions made on social media, video-calls, emails, and networking or dating profiles, a lot of who we are is not communicated because we are not making in-person connections. Plus in the digital space, we are forced to compete for people’s time and attention in saturated markets that are distracting with quick impressions. Bottom line, we not only have to be clear on who we are apart from the rest, but we also need to be able to quickly communicate our message.

Brand Development is so important because this is your competitive advantage. No one can compete with you because no one is your brand—a.k.a you! So, this service helps you gain clarity and confidence in who you are, defines the message you want to send, and helps you achieve your personal and or professional goals. By being clear on your brand, your wardrobe and all digital profiles will align to the message you define in Brand Development. We streamline this process by giving you professional feedback and revising the message you are sending through your online presence and anywhere you are representing yourself.

Professional Feedback Keeps Your Message On Target

While any of us could receive feedback from a friend, a family member or a coworker—we know we must take it with a grain of salt, since it will usually involve a personal opinion. Instead of having your impression built on another’s opinion, we build your message around you and your goals.

To make sure we gain more information on who you are, you will be given a pre-assessment to complete before you meet. The pre-assessment will include parts of the Goal Analysis, but will go into further detail about who you are or who you feel you need to be based on your personal and professional goals. You will be asked to provide your results from popular personality tests (i.e. Myers Briggs, Enneagram, Strengths Finder, etc.).

You will also be asked to show or provide links to your digital accounts that you would be like to be reviewed. This may vary by the individual, but we ask to review any content that represents you (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, online dating profile, email signature, company headshot, recorded speaking presentations via Zoom or in-person). Presence Coaching and Media Coaching will take a deeper look into these impressions to correct or improve communicating your message, however Brand Development will provide feedback and help you clearly define the message that you would like to send in these impressions.

In your Brand Development session, you will learn how certain dress can illicit levels of authority plus how color psychology sends different messages. Your coach will then help you construct your personal mission statement by reviewing your pre-assessment, goals, personality tests, and digital accounts. You will conclude by clearly defining the message you want to send in personal or professional encounters. While all of this information becomes summarized together, you may also want to add a custom vision board to see your brand come to life.

How does Brand Development enhance the M.A.P. Process?

Brand Development is the summary of the story you tell in your M.A.P. or Mindset, Appearance and Presence. While Brand Development is available as a separate service, we highly recommend to use in conjunction with Mindset Coaching, Appearance Analyses in an image consultation, and Presence Coaching to streamline your M.A.P. process to give you greater confidence, clarity and authenticity.

By refining your mindset, you will be able to develop you brand to be authentically you at your best. Mindset Coaching helps to identify any roadblocks that keep you from truly owning who you are. We understand that past rejections or negative experiences affect the way we see ourselves, and it is difficult to be accurate in communicating who we are when we are stuck in the past. In our thorough M.A.P. Process, we do not let your past experiences define who you are and where you want to go.

With the addition of Brand Development, Appearance Analyses (specifically color, fit and style analyses that make up an image portfolio) translate into a better wardrobe strategy to keep your message in your appearance on target with your brand.

Brand Development also clearly defines the message you want to send in your presence, so Presence Coaching is the practice of communicating your message in both aspects of your verbal and nonverbal impression.
